So you're saying if I have a website that I promote my business and show pictures (that I took) of the work I do, that means I have to get permission from the individuals?

You're getting a lot of misleading information..

The answer is generally, no... you do not need a release or permission of individuals in your photos to show them or have them on your website.. There may be exceptions, but they would be rare..

Make a copy of this for your bag:

If you want to sell a persons image for a profit, and that person has "posed" for you or is the main subject, you may likely need a release (but not always).. If that person is incidental to the main subject, you do not...

South West By North! You can tell that like me your are not "with It". These days you have to give GPS Co-ordinates.

Have a great day,

Ian

What's a GPS?

Global Positioning System- Tom Tom and Garmin are GPS's Many cell phones have them also. I even know of some tractors that have them.

I was joking. I wouldn't drive anywhere without one. Gives me more time to take photos rather than reading maps.

I know nothing about the criteria for stock photos so no comment concerning that issue. I think the carrot cake (?) should be shot from a different angle, maybe showing more of the icing. I like all the others including the first one. It make me want to make some coffee right now. I think the diner owner will be proud to display them!

Thanks! :)

It just so happens that I DID get one of the carrot cake with more icing showing, but I felt like the details blurred together too much with the white plate background.

What do you think?

Yes, you are right.......hmm. How about a colored napkin placed between the icing and plate?

I'm amazed that a fish would leave the water to try and eat a bird.

I'm usually not a big fan of textures but I think it works pretty good on your photo.

You usually do not want DOF when shooting in zoo or zoo like settings.

Maybe, if instead of shooting at F/13, you opened up the aperture to your max, blurring all but your main focal point which would be, of course, the birds.
