Ditto on the Amazon scene. Cancelled my Prime membership and doing any business what-so-ever some time back for the same reasons. Oh, yeah ... there is no such thing as Amazon free shipping! Was getting rooked for $13 bucks a month, or $156 bucks a year and was only ordering only a few times a year. Ha!!!

No wonder it's a multi-billion $ monopoly. SHOP LOCAL!

Bet those two local shop owners had enough of the big city life and decided to bail on that city with the 200,000 souls.

"Two roads diverged in a wood, and I ... I took the one least traveled by, and it has made all the difference."

Very, very nice!

Many folks don't live near larger cities with camera stores having large selections, let alone ones being Authorized Dealers. Best to locate the nearest AD and stick with them, even if it means doing business via mail or ground shipment. Getting a good re pore with one or two of them usually establishes a lasting seller/buyer relationship that is worth it's weight in gold.

The closest AD near me is two hours away, and the other 5 hours. I like the one that is a five-hour drive
because they are friendly, have a complete and mouth-watering inventory, and we (my dog and me) can shoot pics going and coming, have a picnic, and even spend the night if need be - shooting two birds with one stone and having a great time also.

I refuse to do business with any Gray Market dealer even if means saving a few bucks. I'm especially picky about what I put in front of my Nikon and it has to be genuine gear. Have dealt with B&H a few times and give them six stars out of five. Don't know anything about Adorama.

Thanks CPO. Agree it is a shallow DOF. Shot 9 feet away @ f.35 - if these birds would hold still enough I'd go for more DOF but the January sun up here in NW MT is nearly non-existent ... maybe the sun will come out someday and I could go for f16. Image is a bit fuzzy too because I was shooting thru a window - manual everything. Just ordered the infa-red remote for outside set up (high today around 25 degrees). When that arrives birds beware!

These little ones are fun to photograph, but sure give me fits at times as they present challenges that can give one fits - especially me. Nikkor 70-200mm f2.8G ED IF Shot on DX Mode (300mm) 1/125 @ f3.5 ISO 2500 Manual Mode

Very respectable set of White-tail antlers. FYI, humbly saying, that by today's standard of relating the size of this buck would be: a 4x5 describing the side with the lesser points first. By yesterday's standard the lesser side would be only be stated, i.e. a four point. The eye guards are not included in either cases, nor are the small nub-points along the lower main beam ... however if a finger ring can be hung from any other sub points along the upper beams then those are counted. If scoring for Boone & Crockett or Pope and Young, then its a free-for-all and everything gets counted and scored including beam lengths and circumferences, base circumferences, point lengths, widest beam spread, greatest spread between points, and some other scoring tidbits.

You might consider having this rack scored by a certified or qualified scorer, it might go somewhere in a record book ... maybe. In the meantime, yes, a very nice set of antlers to be proud to own, and might add ... a nice 13-point too. Oh, yeah, on topic for UH, nice photograph as well.

Many thanks iDoc. Yes, not the normal GC photo ... I couldn't resist shooting the moment I saw it.
