There is a reason lenses come in different focal lengths. If you need to get "closer" to a subject, use a longer lens. A tele-converter forces the lens to exceed its design parameters, reducing light and sharpness. Sometimes it's better to "skip" a shot instead of creating something you are just going to discard anyway.

It's a day to give honor to those who died in uniform. It is NOT the day to bitch and complain---save that for another time. If, at a funeral, you have nothing good or kind to say about the deceased, one keeps their mouth shut. Lots of veterans have legitimate gripes and anger. Lets keep those for another day and give honor to our fallen heroes. (1st battalion, 7th Cavalry, Vietnam, 1968).

Memorial Day is NOT Veterans Day. Memorial Day was created to honor American soldiers killed in battle during the Civil War. It continues to be the day set aside to honor those lost in military service. It is a purely American holiday. Veterans Day, always on November 11th, is the anniversary of the end of World War I, and is a day set aside to honor all who served in our armed forces.

As always, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. And value is whatever someone is willing to pay for something. In 1945, the American Mustang (P-51) cost the government $50,900 per plane. After the war, they were sold as surplus for $1,500. Today, you can't buy one for under one million dollars. Wonder what Ansel Adams' camera would sell for today?

In my "limited" experience, no converter does real justice to a photograph and in reality simply degrades the end result. Just my personal opinion.

Thanks to everyone. Lot of great information from one simple question. Still not sure, but it seems the trend is just to stock up with a bunch of extra SD cards. Thanks too all. Dave.

I am 70 years old and getting ready for a "my bucket list" trip. I do NOT own a laptop. Is there a device or way to download my pictures from the SD card (I have a Sony A7II) to some sort of portable device while traveling? The sole purpose to safe guard the images on the SD card....just don't want anything to happen to them. Thanks for any suggestions. Dave.

I know that this has nothing to do with anything, but just wondering if that idiot midget (dear leader Un) is the fattest man in all of North Korea. Curious minds might want to know.

Hello. Thanks for your reply. I have NEVER, ever sold anything on the internet before. I have bought things through PayPal, but never sold anything. I am in the Philadelphia suburbs. Where in MD are you? I travel to western PA almost weekly. Perhaps we might meet and you can personally check out the lens?
