It ALWAYS amazes me how some people on this site are so rude, mean spirited and have no kind words to say.

True ugly people!!

We are all adults, if you don't have a nice thing to say, don't say anything!!

I have used my crystal ball on a tripod and hand held the camera. It worked well, as I can put the tripod at any height it will go.

I have lowered the price of this lens.

I am selling this because I just don't use it anymore. It is a great lens for macro, portraits. Lens is in great condition, minimal signs of wear. I have always had lens caps on when not on camera.
I am asking $350 plus shipping to continental USA. Photos on request.

Designed for use with full frame digital SLR cameras. May also be used with smaller APS-c size sensors with a corresponding effective increase in focal length to about 150mm with most cameras
Focuses down to 1:1 magnification ratio at its closest working distance of 12.3 inches
A hood adapter, (not detachable) lens hood, front & rear lens caps are included with the lens

I have gone shooting with a friend with a severely deformed right hand. He shoots on continuous so one or more image is sharp. Have you tried something like this?

I do think back button focus would help. You can focus with your thumb, then press shutter with your index finger. On continuous it would take several images hopefully one would be in focus.

Not sure if you saw this, I am selling a Sigma 105 F2.8 for Nikon.

I am selling this because I just don't use it anymore. It is a great lens for macro, portraits. Lens is in great condition, minimal signs of wear. I have always had lens caps on when not on camera.
I am asking $375 plus shipping to continental USA. Photos on request.

You're a tad over priced, f/1.8D's are running $350 or less.

Are you interested in the lens? I would be willing to sell it for $350, plus shipping costs.

I am trying to lighten my load of Nikon Lenses. I haven't used this one in a really long time. My go to lens is the Nikon 24-70 f2.8. This is my reason for selling it. It has always had a Tiffen uv filter. Come with both caps and a metal hood. I am asking $350 plus shipping costs. Photos on request.

Ken Rockwell says:

****The Nikon 85mm f/1.8 AF and AF-D have superb optical and mechanical quality. They have been among Nikon's most popular lenses for many decades, and rightfully so.
They have superb performance, especially for use on the 36 MP Nikon D800.

I prefer this original lens to 2012's new plastic made-in-China G version. This original lens offers a better 9-bladed diaphragm, superior mechanical quality that will last a lifetime, isn't gelded so it works on every camera, has a hard infinity-focus stop, metal filter threads, faster autofocus and smaller size than the new G 85/1.8.****

You might also contact local camera stores, other online sites that sell gear and of course B & H.

A friend had a backpack with all his gear stolen. He contacted B&H, Adorama, Police. A few days later someone tried to sell the equipment to B&H, they called the police and the guy was arrested. My friend got all his gear back.

I have 2 Nikon, full frame and cropped, with many lenses. I also have 2 Sony's a full frame and cropped. I just got back from Cuba, where I only took my Sony's. I am so happy with the images, 95% were handheld and very sharp. I walked around for hours with the 2 cameras hanging off my shoulders without any discomfort.

I am getting ready to sell off my Nikon lenses. I have to many and just don't use them much.
I am selling a Nikon 85 F1.8 and a Sigma EX 105 f2.8. Message me if interested in either of these lenses.

Loved watching this video. If you love birding in Central park, come on out to Long Island where the chickadees, titmouse & downly woodpecker will eat out of your hand!!!

I took this image of my hand feeding the birds, with my little Sony A6500 with a Sony 16-70 f4 lens.
