The "eye" of a photographer is the "art" of photography - composition, use of light, etc. But one cannot neglect that the best use of the technology available to the photographer is essential as well.

Pretty interesting! The Roman Empire was pretty amazing - they built roads, aqueducts, buildings, and forts throughout their range of influence. They were fascinated by the cultures and religions in the Middle East - it is surprising for me to see in Rome 17 huge Egyptian obelisks scattered throughout Rome in various plazas, all covered with hieroglyphics. One, I was told, was so large and heavy that it was strapped sideways across three ships that were linked together side-by-side.

The county undoubtedly paid for many kids to attend public schools. Do they advise them that after graduation they are not allowed to make a living with knowledge and/or skills they learned at the county's expense? Someone wasn't thinking when they came up with this idea!

I don't know how you could be in trouble for posting a sign. I like the idea of saying that the water contains hydrophilic substances! Maybe offer her a suggestion for a good plumber that can put a faucet on that side of her house so that she can more easily water her plants.

I have a great camera - it does macro and normal up to beautiful wide angles. It does great video and records pretty good audio with the video - AND - it fits into my zippered pocket so it's always ready. I can do basic image editing right in the camera. With it's computer and cellular access I can determine how to get where I need to go, make reservations and download tickets, and even use it to pay for my admission or my gelato - this is valuable since much of Europe is now cashless. Because I always have it in my pocket, I am always ready to take a photograph - or to show people my recent photos! It is pretty marvelous.

I had an awesome two weeks in Italy and am already planning a return next year (yes, I DID throw a coin into the Trevi Fountain!).

I promise to try my hardest to treat all people with respect, and it can be important in clinical practice to know your sexual orientation, but I refuse to be responsible for remembering what pronoun or pronouns with which you prefer to be addressed. Electronic medical records are now being "upgraded" to support various changes in gender and pronoun preference. But when the local clinic's records conflict with the hospital or insurance company records, you can expect chaos. "Yes, I know that I haven't done a Pap smear on that patient..." or "Well, yes, I AM billing for a Pap smear for Robert, who identifies as a man....".

The major players for homeowner's insurance left Florida years ago. My current carrier offers a rider for personal equipment, but it is expensive and has a huge deductible and limited coverage, and is just not worth it. NANPA offers coverage through an affiliate. I checked that out a few years ago and it seemed reasonable.
