We were predicted a great chance to see them, but that didn't come to fruition. I have not done that much night time photography so it was fun, even without the predicted light show. The lights in these photos are coming from across Lake MI.. Green Bay WI, (I am guessing), as well as the local towns of Frankfort and a few I think show Arcadia or Manistee.

Thanks. I heard the reports too. I checked the Aurora Borealis forecast website and it said activity was quiet that night so I didn't go out.

You stayed much warmer than I did!! I had left the house hours earlier thinking I would return home before then. I was standing in the wind blowing off Lake MI and freezing!!! However, I was having fun and that overruled my discomfort for awhile.

Nice series. Looks like the MW to me. I was out looking last night as well, but it was a no show for me as well.
Night shooting is addictive.

Thank you. I didn't have a good wide lens until recently. I think I am going to enjoy doing this more.

Sue, I just got interested in doing AstroPhotography that I did this month with an expert from Tucson. Key is dark skies and no light pollution. Looks like you have your Iso and exposure right on. Have fun.

I have some ideas for future location. I learned about light pollution last night and how easily it can ruin a shot. LOL.. I also learned I swear a lot when cars pull in and ruin a long exposure. :) Thank you Stan.

Thank you Bob. With no Northern Lights happening, they are some reward anyway.
