Glad it helped. I’ll be pulling mine out of storage this week to shoot some paper documents...it’s been a year so I hope I remember how everything works.

The conventional wisdom on strobes that haven’t been used for awhile is to charge the capacitor and discharge at 1/2 power a few times before charging and shooting at full power. Is that true or an “old wive’s tale”? I have no idea. i’ve been using high voltage oil filled capacitors for decades in high voltage power supplies and have pulled caps off the shelf that haven’t been used for many years and brought them immediately up to full power, but maybe I’ve just been lucky. I believe EL Shapiro used to run a repair service for strobes, so maybe he can comment.

Btw, the Youngnuo (sp?) combination I referenced above works great and allows radio triggering.

Has anyone used Neewer 4 or 16 Channel Wireless Studio Flash Trigger Sets? I'm considering it but wanted to ask others first.

I see that Youngnuo makes a wireless RF receiver, the YNE3-RX that is compatible with the 600EX-RT / ST-E3-RT system, but I can’t tell from the specs if (a) there a sync cord available with the right plug for the Novatron pack and (b) will it handle the sync voltage of the Novatron? Anyone have any idea or how to find out? (no contact info. for information on the Yongnuo site)

Hi TriX
I have several wireless triggers, Neewer, Youngnuo,WanSen,iShoot,PocketWizard PlusII. None of these came with the type H (Household) adapter to fit a Novatron. I have 3 sets of Novatrons. The moat common connection for the output connector cable from the wireless trigger receiver module will be a 1/8th" (MONO) phone connector. The other common type is the 1/4" (MONO) phone plug. I am electronic engineer and made my own adapter cables, but you can purchase a neat converter/adapter from Amazon or Adorama. It is a household male plug (which plugs into the Novatron SYNC connector, the adapter has a female 1/8" (3.5mm) jack which you will connect to your wireless receiver. The adapter is about $9.95 + shipping. cables for almost every wireless receiver module are available from Amazon or ebay which are terminate with the 1/8" (3.5mm) male plug which fits into the adapter module. You may extend the length of the interconnect cable by purchasing a male - female extension cable, just make certain it is MONO (with only one band on the plug)(its called tip sleeve configuration. typically a 12ft. extension is available for less than $2.00 on ebay. Hope this helps

Thanks very much for the information. I made my own cable, and it works quite well.

Cheers

Yes, I have both the 4 channel and also the 16 channel models. Both work equally well.
if you are a Nikon or Cannon guy check out this Neewer Model MK-RC10N 1/8000s Wireless LCD TTL
Studio Flash Trigger for Nikon, and they have a model for Cannon, In addition to the wireless flash trigger, It also operates as a remote shutter release which allows half button press to wake up strobe, turn on the IR illuminating, allows to auto focus the camera. And it works. It is one of the few models which will sync over 1/250 - this one goes to 1/8000 of a second.Permits remote TTL iTTL exposure control/measurement The Neewer lesser expensive models limit you to 1/250. This Neewer model comes in a set of 2, with sync cables and also remote shutter cables. On ebay for $40.00 (somewhat difficult to find). Many more options too! I liked it so much I bought another and gave it away as a gift.
