A.I. Clear: Opinions?
For one who deigns (or is too lazy) to sit for hours in front of a computer trying to produce spectacular images and would rather be out shooting, is Topaz's A.I. Clear too good to be true?
Probably not, but I've been using it for awhile and like it.
Unfortunately, if one wishes to pursue photography, processing one's photographs is part of the art. If one looks deeply enough, one can find that most processing software will accomplish the same effects as any plugins. This takes experience and that comes from using the software. Unfortunately, there are those who fall into the "push button" group that want the work done for them.
Your questioning the group is a wise choice as you'll probably get fewer sales pitches and better straight answers. I've found most sales examples to be cherry-picked photos produce remarkable results. Whereas the majority of the user's photographs don't fall in that category and may not render the results shown in examples meant to sell the product.

Perhaps the Title did not enthuse me, but, what does it do??

I have been using it too. And everything it touches seems to come out looking better. It is really good at removing noise and also making the image look sharper without over doing it.
Trying to figure out now how to best use it in conjunction with DxO Prime Noise Removal. So far, if I use the default amount of noise removal, it works well when then treated with AI Clear. Push Prime Noise Removal, and I see artifacts after AI Clear.

First, it is very good at noise removal. Second, it makes everything in the image look sharper. But it is not doing this with conventional sharpening techniques. The results end up being an improved image and at the same time looking very natural. I am finding no fault with this application.
But be aware that the final result does increase the file size.

I have been using it for a while now as well as one of my good friends. Our opinion is that it is an excellent piece of software. It approaches noise reduction and clarity differently than other software and seems to have fewer "side effects". If you like it you should download a trial of Sharpen AI as well to see what it can do. We really like it as well.
I have always wanted to try this! If you want it, do you have to purchase the whole package, or can you get AI just alone?
Hmmm, I checked out Topaz's website and it seems AI Clear is no longer listed as a free download. But something called "JPEG to RAW AI" and "Sharpen AI" is. So which to download? Anyone had experience with these two? I just want to get rid of noise.
AI Clear is purchased then used in the free Topaz Studio. Sharpen AI is a free standing program as is jpep to raw Al & gigapixel
I have a coupon code for a 15% discount. PM me if interested.
AI Clear is the real deal. I tried it on low light images, soft images and a variety of older shots taken with different cameras. It consistently improved the final output, and has now replaced Nik Sharpener as my final post processing step. Highly recommend.

AI Clear has never been a stand a lone program like Sharpen AI. You can download and run Topaz Studio for free if your system meets the system requirements. When you open an image and click on the adjustments you will see AI Clear in the list. However, it is not the full adjustment. When you click on it and it shows in the right hand screen, there is a button that says Try Pro Version. You can click on that and it will enable it for a free 30 day trial. The Topaz Studio comes with 10 free adjustments and you will find that there are literally hundreds of free Effects produced by other Topaz users available to use for free. You can also download and use for 30 days free the Sharpen AI and Gigapixel AI. Lots of videos to explain and demonstrate use of all of their products and free webinars on a regular basis.

Thank you so much. Going to try it!
Been using AI Clear for quite awhile now and have been very pleased! I believe, the "artificial intelligence", however that works, puts it in a class of it's own. A big improvement over the traditional de-noise and sharpening methods found in Adobe.
