Nice shot. Good perspective re focusing on the shot and not the fog which could be tricky to navigate.
Thanks

Wow! I love black & white. I'm drooling over the image of the cows. Thank you. Really neat shot.

I was lucky enough to take a number of images the other day at a local harbor with fog drifting thru the masts but when I got home to process them nothing I did seemed to bring out the fog. I then did google searches and didn’t really find much other than a video using affinity by making a layer with a graduated filter with just color but that seemed like I was creating fog rather than highlighting. I tried a number of dehaze options inside Lightroom, On1 , Luminar and even Topaz Studio with nothing working.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

You might try creating a luminosity mask to select the fog itself then work on selectively enhancing it using the mask. I don't know if newer versions of Lightroom offer luminosity masking or not but you can create them in "Photoshop", "Affinity Photo", "Photoshop Elements" and in "ON1 Photo RAW". I am not sure if Topaz offers any luminosity masking capabilities.

In the future, you might try a fog filter on the lens. >Alan

Thanks for coming up with a new idea.

Excellent shots of fog. Thanks for sharing. I could not stop looking for detail in the pasture scene. I love shooting photos in the fog because things change so quickly and it keeps me on my toes.

For your purposes you would be using Dehaze (and Clarity for that manner) in the negative way. But selectively not globally I would think. Fog was harder to enhance than it sounded to me when I tried to do it which took me a while to work on but never worked out. Here's 3 examples I'm not that happy with.

FWIW I think your third shot is pretty amazing. Fog is damn hard to capture accurately or at least in the same way as our eye/brains interpret fog because camera sensor tend to see through fog in all but the lowest light conditions. I took some pics of fog rolling in at night here at my house on a near full moon and only then did my pics turn out like the fog actually looked.......solid. But damned if I can't find the pics right now....

If there is a foggy scene no PP necessary. If there ain't no fog, there is no need to "Make it up". Except for a little cropping this one is sooc.
