As part of our 2006 vacation we were fortunate to have 4 nights based at Abersee, on the southern side of Wolfgangsee, Austria.
Think "Sound of music" country. We were there early october.
Aberssee, a very small community is about a 40m local bus trip from Salzburg.
Unfortunately we got off the bus at at St Gilgen (Mozarts mums birthplace) which meant we had to catch two ferries, and a short walk to find our guest house. There was also a fair bit of confusion and getting a bit lost (IE:stress).
This part of our vacation was a walking holiday where we would set off each day and walk about 14km (9miles) and make our way back to "home", usually by ferry.
We were supplied with a back pack, maps and trail guides, and a cut lunch for each days walk.
Some pics from Abersee
Thanks for looking and more to come.

Looks like really beautiful place to stay and photograph. I particularly like your second shot.
I can see all that walking made you thirsty.

Every picture tells a story.
Your wife's expression says ' What are you doing you idiot? Your soup is going cold."
I think she would get along great with my wife!!

Thanks. It is a beautiful part of the world.
Looks like an interesting trip.
A beautiful place Richard. I like the "Leading Cats" in the first shot, but that second one is my favorite. All nicely done.
