I am impressed with the IQ you are getting with the R and attached RF lens. Also looks like 8844 needs a bit of body work behind the cab--a minor collision perhaps? John

I doubt it was a collision. To impact that area would take a major event. Considering that the locomotive is at least 30 yrs old there is no telling what it has been through. Still, if you look closely at the panel you can see that quite a bit of welding has been done to it's interior side. Quite possibly for updated controls or equipment. Since the panel is probably not much more then 1/8" steel welding would easily warp it.
There is also the possibility that panel came off a wrecked locomotive. A lot can happen in 30 yrs or so.
