I am planning by to get a new laptop soon, and would like to ask what would be decent specs in order to run Capture One quickly and easily? RAm, ROM. Processor, screen? Thanks for your input.

Probably an I7 processor or above, 2 GB dedicated video, 32 GB RAM, 500 GB SSD for Operating system and perhaps a 2nd SSD for data. An ASUS or other gaming machine would work. If you have the necessary space, a desktop and quality monitor is a better choice. Being you already plan on using Capture One, I know you've already done your homework for the best out there. As for a good laptop all really need is a good modern computer as they all should have fast items built in.

My suggestion would be something built by Intel. Pobably an XPS model. That will give you a processor choice with an i8, and if you want more, an i9. I don't have an Apple computer. Others can help if you want one of those type.

The i7 processor models can be found a some stores selling older computers. That's what I have and it works very well.

After that, look for as much ram that is possible. All the better post programs run better with lots of ram. Although C1 can work fine with less, I'd suggest at least 16gb ram or more.

Look for something with a decent graphics board. Know that better graphics boards get up in price real fast.

I run an Intel 500gb ssd as a second drive basically debicated to C1 and find no problems with that size. You could get larger although that is just overkill and expensive since im guessing you'll be saving off line.

Don't forget a good second off line backup drive just for storage safety.

After getting the stuff, about the only problem you'll have is keeping up with the computer! LoL

Capture One Pro 12 for Sony runs well on my 3 year old Dell desktop with Intel i5 and 12 GB RAM. It's a 64-bit operating system running Windows 10. Absolutely no problems with C1, which as you probably already know is a fantastic raw converter and editor.

I have a Sony vaio what runs good but the graphics is to slow- I may would look in some gaming computer......I don’t know if this is still true some years ago they said if you can play video games without problem you don’t have any problem with photos.....

Note:

Where as the older tyoe microprocessers had nothing, the newer processors already have reasonably good graphics and sound "cards" built into them.

Check to see if the one you are looking at does.
