I will try and be brief with this explanation, I had an old Pentax K mount 50/1.2 on my Fuji camera which I had planned on changing when I got down to the water to an old 300mm preset lens back from the 50's to early 60's however to my disappointment I had left the appropriate adapter at home. Oh well, I made the best of it anyway. I know that a couple of these are clipped but, I just could not bring myself to leave them out of the post.

Thanks Earnest, thanks Tesseagles…. I am kinda surprised that nobody seems as surprised as I am that I was able to capture these with a 50mm lens. I almost left the camera in the car and certainly did not expect to get some decent bird pics, even if the birds are rather large.

That's a very crisp lens and you got good images with it. Nice Job.

Back in the day it was the King of Pentax's 50's, some say it is soft, but considering that it was manufactured before the M series it really is not bad at all, softness often comes from an inability to focus such a shallow DOF at f/1.2, I find it completely usable at f/1.2 but like I said the focus has to be spot on. I have a love affair with fast lenses, I have an 85/1.2 a 105/1.4 a 135/1.8 and of course a stable full of 50-58mm 1.4s mostly vintage lenses with the exception of a Sigma Art.

These images were taken at f/11 as I was constantly walking towards the bird to get him to fly so I really needed a deep DOF to maintain focus.

Still shoot even with the wrong camera rather than lose it. Nice shots.
