I would like to know too. I do know this exhibit travels from site to site and has to be dismantled and erected each move. There were many sculptures on exhibit at Biltmore. Most were outside in the gardens and a few inside the mansion. I’ll post other photographs as I work through the raw files if they are post worthy...

Beautiful. Would love to know the routine of the conservators that keep it pristine and free of bird activity.

Indeed it is impressive in person. Glad I got got the opportunity!

Completely disagree.
My only issue is its more "team" Don Chihuly than just the individual but it was his vision and style
to start with.
I think its incredibly creative and a joy to see, if you've ever actually seen his/their work in person.

Double download is a must to see the detail. This is a beautiful piece. We have a couple of his pieces owned by our Fine Arts Center here in Colorado Springs. Always a joy to behold. Thanks for sharing this piece with us all!!!!

A spectacular piece of art. I think if I had it I would invest in a very solid Plexiglass enclosure!! It would not only protect it from Vandalism but also keep it clean. Can you imagine the number ofWindex spran cans you would need Here in calgary it would be quite a problem with SNOW - Freeze & Thaw cycle too.

Beautifully crisp focus even in double download. A fine shot. Placing that outdoors would make me very nervous, but the contrast with the live vegetation at the base is impressive.

This glass tree is the best and most complicated work of Chihuly yet. He is really developing even after all these years.

We were fortunate several years ago to see an exhibit at our relatively small museum in Kalamazoo. It was all indoors, though. Some day maybe i can get to see one of his outdoor ones. From what I've seen Chihuly's creations are even more spectacular at night.

My introduction to Chihuly was a borrowed VHS movie many years ago. I have watched other movies of his work in progress since. Based on those I have seen, I expect any, or all of them are well worth the time to watch.

Not only is he an artist, but so are the people who put together the individual pieces for his shows. The arrangement is different every time it's put together. He is the inspiration but his studio employs many glass blowers. His singular glass bowls are exquisite.

I like this “con artist” so much, I go visit all of his installations😎 I like the shot and have about 100 on my cards.

A con artist, not a glass artist.

He isn't a conartist, but one of the most talented glass artists alive, he started out doing plates, bowls and vases, the image you are looking at was created by his own studio techniques, he now does the same thing over and over because he has a studio full of craft people that have perfected his vision, it's about money now, I have seen his work since the begining, so if you don't know him that's OK, (his con) is making lots of money to employ his staff of successful craftsman and nothing more, good for him.
