Thanks Horseart. Great idea. I might just do that.

Let us know if you do. I, for one, would enjoy that challenge.

Stunning images. The close-ups give me goosebumps (sorry). I can almost feel the energy. What a sight. I'm jealous.
Thanks for sharing.

These shots were taken on Fir Island in Skagit County Washington last Tuesday. It was a clear, cold day. Thousands of snow geese were leisurely spending the day pecking in the mud and grass when an eagle flew by. Then this happened. It's the closest I have been to a snow goose explosion in quite awhile. I was lucky not to get pooped on. Taken with a Nikon D500 and a Tamron 150x600MM G2 lens. I welcome your comments/criticisms/suggestions.

wow...terrific shots, saxman! it must have been your lucky day, in more ways than one!

Did the eagle actually make an attack on the geese?

Nope. It just slowly flew by. But I have seen many eagles eating dead snow geese so they pick one off every once in awhile. Apparently, the geese don't know when that's going to happen.

Great. I particularly like the goose in the upper right of the third picture.
