Opening weekend on the pass is always a great trip!
During the years we lived in Billings, it was an annual rite of spring for good wife and me to make the trip; that is if the pass was open. The drifts were sometimes as high as 15 feet or more. Kind of like driving through a snowy canyon--beautiful state, and I still miss it after twenty years. John
I found the sign ( Bear’s Tooth) interesting. I recall it as Beartooth, as in your title. Google Maps agrees.
It is always an amazing drive. Can be scary in bad weather.

The Beartooth range is named after one peak, that is the "Bears Tooth" as depicted in the second image.

I’ll keep an eye out for that next time I head that way...likely later this summer.
the pass only has 2 seasons --winter and road repair-- so be prepared for a long drive
