This past Sunday we had winds up to 70mph at the Eastern end of Lake Erie and the Upper Niagara River. The ice boom at the mouth of the Niagara River was compromised allowing a huge flow of ice from the lake to enter the river.
The attached photos were taken of docks along the East Branch of the Upper Niagara in Grand Island, NY. The damage is quite severe, and doen't happen under normal conditions.
Looks like a good season coming up for the dock repair business, Brent!
