Home is the BC Kootenays and some months every year at a former home in the Surselva region of the Grisons, Switzerland.
Two kits at my disposition, m43 Panasonic G81 (elsewhere G85) with a few lenses incl. M.Zuiko 12-40/2.8, my walk around. For Birding (BoB and BiF) I traded another m43 body w/seldom used lenses and obtained a Nikon D7500 and a Sigma 100-400 (winter 2019).
Very much in a trial-and-error-mode now and deep into the Hogan guide, the Klostermann 7500 Experience and Steve Perry tomes.
Aside from wildlife the railroads do interest me and from working days ruins and cultural remnants, be these single finds or entire historical townscapes. The immediate surroundings and therewith landscape figure as well.
welcome to the forum....it's a great place to learn!
welcome, If you haven't visited Banff to Jasper Glacier highway. Many compare it to the beauty of the Alps. The other direction is Vancouver . One of the most beautiful seaside cities. While you are there you might as well list Vancouver Island. In Kamloops is a most unusual railroad grade. It is a spiral loop to get through the mountains. Happy shooting

‘Landed’ it will soon be 50 years ago in Calgary. The Foothills and parks of AB were regular weekend visits. But the Glacier Parkway I haven’t driven for more than 20 years. Wrt landscape, the Alps are tighter than the Rockies with their stately spaciousness. The most similar to the Swiss Alps perhaps the Kokanees and the Goat Range between Balfour and Galena Bay. Also the Coast Mtns have similarities too, used to live in the Bella Coola valley. The Rockies are truly grand and furthermore sport the CP mainline for ther aficionado.
Obviously, mountains (and rails) it has to be for one born in them on the Rhaetian Railway :-)
TNX all for the welcome!
