WOW, somebody pinch me please. I just found out that I have been accepted as a contributing photographer by Getty Images. Is anyone else on this site also a contributor? I'd love to hear about your experience and any tips you can pass along. PM me please if you'd like to chat about it. Cheers, Dick

I have not done this, but have a friend that has a lot with Getty and she actually makes about a $1000/quarter from her photos with them.

I met a pro photographer about 3 years ago who did NFL games in Dallas and the Arizona Cardinals home games. He used all Canon Gear. The Canon 1DX Mark 1 was the body he used. He said, he was hoping that he would be accepted for the 2016 Olympics in Brazil. The Canon 1DX Mark 2 was released in time for those Olympics. Canon had teamed up with Getty Images to do that Olympics. I don't know if he was selected. But, I do know there must have been a million+ photos taken at that Olympics. I checked out a website that had photos posted from those Olympics in 2017. Those photos were incredible. Congratulations to your acceptance.

Congratulations I think. To your knowledge, is there a potential downside to this partnership? I took a look at their website and being a possible contributor seems interesting.

Now a question for all who are Getty contributors; A quick look at the web site and it appears that the only way to interact with Getty as a contributor is through a phone app, Getty Contributor. So how do folks deal with getting images from your computer to your phone, and once accepted, do they offer a computer option for uploading the large files?

Be careful. They usually want a fairly good number of images per month, and won't pay much. Lotta work.

I'm also a contributing photographer. My results are mixed, probably due to my subject matter & I don't submit photos on a regular basis. Hope you do well.
