I have lived in Walla Walla for 8 years and this is the first time I have seen a Pileated in the area. I've seen some in the Spokane area but you would expect to see them there.

Thanks imagemeister, and thanks ron. I put the photo with the bird in the tree (#3) so you can see the red strip below the eye indicating that this is a male.
