Very good advice. Hang on to your wallet with both hands. Otherwise you might loose it before you get to the store and then you would not be able to buy lots of stuff!!!

GAS is good!

I live about 30 miles from their location in Symrna, Georgia and have been there a few times to pick up or return goods. They used to be on Marietta street downtown. They do not have a storefront and you need to call and schedule an appointment to either drop off or pick up anything. I have sold to them but did so at an expo they were at. I wish they did have a storefront, but they don't.

Thanks so much. I am so glad I asked before just driving down there with stuff to sell. Appreciate the info!

25 years or so ago, KEH had a very nice storefront in northwest Dallas. They even relocated and expanded it once or twice. I was a pretty regular visitor and customer. I was venturing into medium format after taking a couple of photography classes and they always seemed to have lots of very nice Mamiya TLR and SLR equipment at very attractive prices.

I have many times wished that their store was still in the area. It was without exception a friendly and helpful place to visit.

Being a former New Yorker, and having been a frequent visitor to the B&H store, my motto is: if B&H doesn't have it, you don't need it! Every time I return to NY, I always visit there. It is an experience every serious photographer needs to experience! Now that I am no longer living in the 'lower 48, ' I find their online or phone ordering customer service exceptional!
I know this post was originally about KEH but I felt compelled to add my two cents given the responses before mine.

I live a couple hours from there and am thinking of making the trip to their real store to sell/buy stuff. Is it worth the drive? Thank you in advance!

I went there about 6 months ago and was looked at very strangely because they are not set up like retail store. I had some equipment to trade in on a camera that I wanted, but they do not do business that way. I had to leave the equipment with them for evaluation and they sent me a check later. I would not waste the gas for a 2 hour trip to go there. I am just relating my experience. I have the most confidence in KEH and I continue to deal with them solely by Internet or telephone.

Thanks, Jim. I will deal over the internet and save myself a trip through the Atl. traffic!

Buy online with confidence. They rate their gear VERY conservatively. Used dealers don’t get much better.
