Beautiful image Geoff and being Scottish myself like to hear the history of your beautiful country.

Cheers Jack, Im not Scottish, but my Mrs is a Glaswegian Lass, and having fallen in love with Scotland back in the 1960s, before I new her, I haven't changed my mind, and we go back at least twice a year, and this year were are spending a bit of time in Aberdeenshire and then moving on to near Fort William, which is not that far from Glencoe so I will be spending a few hours there again.

In the most magical part of the Scottish Highlands sits Rannock Moor, and at the northern end of the moor is the mighty Glencoe, with is legions, massacres and murderous history it dwarfs its surroundings and always lives up to its magnificent reputation.

The Massacre of Glencoe (Scottish Gaelic: Mort Ghlinne Comhann) took place in Glen Coe in the Highlands of Scotland on 13 February 1692, following the Jacobite uprising of 1689-92. An estimated 30 members and associates of Clan MacDonald of Glencoe were killed by government forces billeted with them, on the grounds they had not been prompt in pledging allegiance to the new monarchs, William III of England and II of Scotland and Mary II.
