I love my Pelican case; but it doesn’t fit under the seat in front of me in the plane. Just be sure you can lift it to get it in the overhead OR someone may assist you.
Think Tank is what I have. They have a variety of suitable choices...

That is what I have and use.
The bag I created now becomes a "spinner" camera case, something Think Thank and others don't really have

I am in need of a camera bag with wheels for traveling. My back pack gets too heavy running through airports and hauling in and out of motels. The size would have to comply with carry-on bags for flights. I have looked at local camera stores and they don't seem to carry them. I am looking on line, and it is hard to tell what they are really like. Are these a rare item? Thank you for any input or suggestions.
I use think tank airport roller. Lowepro is also good. The think tank is deeper so more lenses stand up but it still meets airport requirements. Great quality too.
I have a Think Tank navigator and just love it. One of the things I do love, is I can access my camera with lens, while the bag is standing up. I don't have to lay it down to access. I can lay it down, and there is a spot for computers.
PM me if interested, I have a code where you get a small free gift.
Same thing I have, won it on a drawing at Roberts, in Indy,
The Think Tank is Great,,
Price was right..
Depending on the kind of photography you do and the gear that you want to move around, rolling cases can be invaluable. We wouldn't be without them and have used them for years. The excellent quality bags by Think Tank (that other people have pointed out) are particularly good. Many although not all of the bags will fit in an overhead compartment for a domestic flight. My wife (also a photographer) and I particularly like 4 wheeled bags -- often referred to as spinners -- they move easily and you can roll them down airplane aisles and other places where two wheeled bags won't go. You lose a bit of space, but for us it's worth the trade off. Excellent spinners can be found from Think Tank (Roller Derby), Lowepro (Photostream SP200), Vanguard (Alta Fly 58T), Manfrotto (2 pretty new models), and perhaps others. The best made of these are pricey -- between $300 and $400. Slightly less expensive is the Lowepro at just under $300. The Vanguard is the least expensive, but I've not seen it, so can't comment. Good luck.
Great reply ED, Those Pelican cases are so heavy that putting them overhead defeats the purpose of mobility. PS I've done the same as you have, only I had not found the insert. Thanks for the tip.

I have been all over the world with my Tenba roll-aboard. It fits in the overhead and accommodates my D800 and D90 bodies, five lenses, a flash, chargers and accessories. It also has a laptop compartment that I use for my Cotton Carrier. When traveling on foreign airlines or in foreign countries you need to be sure that whatever you choose is within the maximum dimensional requirements since there is no international standard.

inserts also available on Amazon and eBay ( limited, cheap quality, but work )
...put a propeller and some wings and that baby could fly...
I have the Vivitar case. It is inexpensive and lightweight. It has held up well for several years. I can fit 2 DSLRs, the 150-600 Tamron, 2 other DSLR lenses, a point and shoot or two, a small laptop, and all the cords, batteries, SD cards that accompany.
