These are really interesting. I have always wanted to try some winter photography but Florida rarely provides temperatures for that kind of thing.

While the idea and images are "neat", I'M sorry to say I see nothing in any of the images that is truly sharp.
I suggest using a tripod for this kind of work.
Your camera and lens is very capable of tack sharp images!!!!!

Very nice! Next time get those snowflakes on a black background, like a black knit hat or some velvet. And definitely use a tripod. Good first try and it's fun to do! Keep at it!

At first, when you said 'hand held' I thought you meant you had snowflakes in your hand. Then I realized you meant you were holding your CAMERA in your hand(s) and not on a tripod. Nice shots.

No, I don't think you will have that chance where you live. You and your DIL should just paint some snowflakes on a night scene.
