I was thinking just shoot them on the spot, but hanging will do, too. At least paint can be removed; my pet peeve is the morons who insist in carving their name in rocks so everyone will know they have been there, regardless of where it is.

So much easier for the authorities just to put up a chain link fence around the area, cover it with "NO TRESPASSING" signs, and lock everyone out. That's much easier than actually trying to find and punish the perpetrators who did it, and the people who suffer are potential visitors who didn't cause the problem.

Manitou Springs reopened this a couple of years ago and left the graffiti, the locals think it is great and continue to add graffiti. It has become a tourist attraction and will never be cleaned up, no matter how disgusting it looks.

Meriweather Lewis partner Wm. Clark carved his name and the date on a rock called Pompey’s pillar near Billings Montana returning from their expedition. National treasure. Had he done the same thing with spray paint it would have been an eyesore. It’s all perspective I suppose. You have to wonder who raised the spray paint criminals.
