Thanks, sr71. I do have a drone. Just never tried to fly it in sub-zero temps.

if you do try to keep batteries warm b4 you fly, lipo's don't like the cold at all....diminished performance.

Well done! If it makes you shiver when you look at it, then you accomplished what you set out to do.

Thank you, srfmhg. It probably would look alright in b&w, but I also think the overall photo would lose some impact, just because the sky seems to be a major drawing point for the photo.

Thanks, sr71. If I use it this winter, the weather would have to improve substantially. We are currently in the throws of a 2-month cold snap where the temps have been between minus 30 to minus 40. Coldest consecutive temps in over 100 years.

Thanks for your comment, HardwareGuy. I'm glad you like it. When I look at it, I recall how cold it was crossing that field to get a shot or two.

Canon 6D
Lens: 24-105 f/4L @ 70mm.
ISO 100; f/11; ss=1/500

Raw to Jpeg with On1 2019.2 then some tweeks in PSE14

I wanted to get closer to have a good look at this old barn, but it was minus 30 c. and I was freezing walking across that field. Unfortunately my 24-105 was the only lens I had with me.
Thanks for looking. Comments welcome.

I really like the composition and sky on this shot. Nice photo!

As a fellow old barn shooter, I say this is a really good photo or more likely outstanding! A pretty good old barn as well.

I love this picture, the sky is wonderful, but there is something about the barn in the picture, it almost looks like it is painted. I personally started taking photos because I can't paint, so this picture really speaks to me. I wouldn't change a thing, blow it up, frame it, and enjoy it! thanks for sharing.

Pretty scene. Nice composition. Very relaxing to view. The sky is grey. What would happen if you went into photoshop and changed the layer mode to color and chose an orange tone and colored the sky to help out the sunset?

Great capture with excellent light. Too bad about the cold, but in my estimation, it paid devidends. Thanks fir sharing.

Great shot!!! I live in cold and mostly gray Ohio--shooting at that temp., isn't a whole lot of fun. Good job.
