Picture-perfect, as they say!
These little guys are so fast. Hard to get shots like these! I’m thinking of getting a blind too.

You won't regret it. Thanks for the comments.

Bright overcast sky with snow on the ground and in my opinion perfect for flash photography. Loaded the feeders to see what would show up and climbed into the blind with my gear.
Sony A7R3, ISO100, 1/250s, 100-400 @400mm, f8. Godox TT685 flash w/extender, 1/4power.
Tripod mounted with ball head loose, OSS and ISIB on. Raw converted and tuned in Capture One Pro.
Looking forward to the firmware update expected in March or April. It probably won't help with birds but can't know until I try it.

Thanks for your comments and concern. All is well in my universe.
Those are super photos of a little bird that has kept us company in Colorado since before I began building our cabin back in '03. We used to stay in our little RV while we planned what to put on our lot. We were putting sunflower seed out (absolutely no figuring how many pounds of that stuff we've put out over the yeas) and the little chipmunks were everywhere eating or stuffing them in their cheeks. This little bird lit on the edge of the tree slab we were feeding on and began to select his single seed. A chipmunk came up over the edge and surprised this little bird. But, instead of fleeing like most birds would in that instance, this little guy raised up as tall as he could stand and raised both wings to the side. He looked just like Count Dracula from the old movies. Instantly this little nuthatch's name became, "The Count". We have greeting him/her since then by that name.
Most of our little critter friends up there have earned names in some similar way. I may have shared some of those over the years.
