I have been using Pentax equipment since 1964 and have had great results, from the old H3v, the Spotmatic, K10D, K3D, and still have all of them in perfect working order. Even a small point and shoot Optio. Not to knock the competition, they may be good, but Pentax measures up in every respect.

I agree. Not quite as long a user, since 1977 anyway. Note my tag line. And those are just the Pentax cameras I still own and use. Hoya screwed Pentax up. I think they only really wanted the Asahi Medical products. Ricoh from what I hear is profitable but they save on Advertising what Canon, Nikon, and Sony spends. I do miss the old Asahi days. I have Pentax lenses from Auto-Takumar to smc-Pentax-DA* and FA. With some of every lens sort in between.

Yes they do.
I enjoyed using the Spotmatic series. At that time all the enthusiast models regardless of make of the major ones were very well built.

I agree. My first SLR was a Spotmatic not long after they arrived on the market, and I currently shoot landscapes with a K-1. Very well made, durable, capable, weather sealed cameras at good prices.

I've taken my Pentax equipment to within 800 miles of the north and south poles, and into rainforests and desert. When I finally bought the K1 I had a dozen old lenses that all worked on it. Even the few lightweight plastic lenses all still work.

I get great results from A6000 and a Fujifilm X30 walk-around camera, but neither would survive the extreme conditions my K3 and K1 shrug off. Just had the K1 on cold Montreal streets for a week. Pentax glass on A6000 with tilt adaptor for studio work, too!

He doesn’t need to have a point, in fact he has the right here on this forum to be as “POINTLESS as YOU” though I doubt that he would do that. If your interest is to make this an “all neekon forum,” have at it, but in the meantime, there may still be room for THINKING outside the canikon BOX. Why don’t you take a deep breath and not be so threatened by an alternate view of life. I bet you’ve been told that time and time again. Ain’t ya glad we have the “IGNORE BUTTON,” boys & girls?? RJM

I feel like a youngster at only 35 years with Pentax. LoL At least I have an over 50 year old Asahi Pentax lens in my arsenal. It works great even though there is a wobble to it.

I sort of wobble in my older years too!
