Great job Brian, I am impressed. How many Galaxies do you count???

Really nice.
I count 12 but then I am pretty blind.
Well done.
What was your focal point? Not that I can pull this much detail.

On the full sized image at least 20...

Focal point was M86+/- but I slewed around to get the most obviously visible galaxies in the area.

Great work there Brian!
I tried this the other night and all I got was faint fuzzies.

I've been playing with shorter images, and smaller to bigger stacks; trying to get smaller, less blown out stars.
Making progress in that endevour.

Am I correct that (57x30sec_1x1binned_LowGain), is 57 images at 30s exposure, 1x binning, and low gain?
If so, why 57 and not 55 or 60? What was your deciding factor? (May be a moot point, I did a 9 image stack because 10 did not look right.)
The LowGain was throwing me off. But I figured that out after opening the Infinity Program. I've hardly ever dabbled in that. For me, it seems Auto Range checked, and Max Peak selected has worked the best
But now I'm curious about the gain. Curses! More to worry about!
More to read up on. Drat!

I went for 55 subs but was slow on the draw to stop the session.

Low Gain: lowest noise, best resolution but also lower sensitivity
Med Gain: more noise (and banding), touch lower resolution, better sensitivity
High Gain: most noise, poorer resolution, great sensitivity

You do the optimization!

If I'm going to select a full Auto Range, it is MeanSD but I still prefer FullRange or FullRangeMinus with manual adjustment of the Median (red) bar.

Clear skies! 2nd day of rain here!!

I count 22 just on my phone. I'll have to see what I get on my computer monitor.

Ba Ha! Yes, there are a couple of revamps I would like to see. Auto Stop.

Auto Stop: To get a set amount of exposures in a stack, then stop the collection.
I'm anal, I like repeatable amounts and adjust the time. Like 30 exposures, but different lengths of exposure. So they can be compared.
Because sometimes I will let the rig run and wind up with something insane like > M-12 7.5s 416 (3120s) <
7.5 second exposures, doze off, and wake up to 416 images stacked, for a total amount of time of 3120 seconds.

Of course, a programmable shock collar could work, too. In lieu of programming in a stop feature....

You can do all that good stuff in ATIK's Artemis software; came with the Core Installation package.

I don't understand, is there a way to limit the number of exposures in the ATIK software or not???

Like I said, use ATIK's Artemis software. It allows complete hands-off image capture...
