Ok, so I found an image I took in 2017 and wasn't happy with it. If I remember correctly this was with my Canon 5D mkIII through a Explore Scientific 127mm triplet. The last tweaking was with Topaz which gave it a different look

Sometimes it’s nice to go back to old data and see what you get with your newly acquired processing knowledge. Do you have a before image to compare to?

Here is the one I worked from, but my raw file is on my external hard drive packed away for our trip to Galveston Island. We are fulltime RVers. I believe this shot was in Lake Havasu City Arizona.

Thank you northmaple. It is and always will be my favorite object, because it was the first DSO that I realized I could have fun doing this crazy hobby.

Very nice image , the detail and nebulosity are great. It takes time to process , I walk away several times through my processing. I'm hoping to get back out after all this rain and start collecting data on the Running man , HH and Flame nebulae . Weather has put the KABASH on any imaging for a lil' while .

Thank you. Post processing is my most challenging part of this hobby, which keeps me coming back for more.

Since getting the Handbook on imaging processing by Richard Berry & James Burnnel my processing skills are improving instead of insanely doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result . I'm finding that each target has a slightly different workflow , some tools are better earlier and some later in the process. I'm getting a handle on it and not getting so frustrated. Time is all it takes. I test 1st then I collect all the data over several nights and love playing with my archived data to improve .
