on my SD card reveal what type of af focus cluster I'm using. I shoot primarily with the Nikon D500 and shoot with the group af mostly but have the joystick set to shoot single point af. Sometimes I shoot the same image in group and single point to see if there is a difference in sharpness but can never remember what was shot with which af grouping. These are all taken with af-c . Thanks in advance, vz.

Generally it should, but it's different for each camera model, you'll have to refer to your manual!

I just opened one of my Nikon D7000 files in Nikon Capture NX-D. I turned on "Show Focus Point" and "File & Camera Information". I can see that it used 21 of the 39 focus points. The file & camera information shows it was in Auto AF area mode.

Nikon View NX-i shows the focus points as red squares as opposed to the tan colored squares here.

I use Irfanview but I haven't seen any way to show the focus points in it. How do you turn the on?

Nikon View NX-i is another program that will show focus points and camera metadata. I had the focus point on the model's forehead.
