I'm heading to DC in a few months and will be taking either my wife's Coolpix S9900 or my D5300. Will not be taking my laptop or a tablet.

Is it possible to upload whatever photos taken direct from camera to cloud storage (to be determined which one), and if so, what is the process?

Thanks
Jay

The workflow for any camera now is from camera to phone and phone to cloud. It can be slow if many images are involved, especially RAW.

I do have that on my GS7, just never thought about this as an option.

Since I have time, I'll see if I can get it to work.

Thanks

There has to be an interposing computer or tablet somewhere to make the transfer. You'd be better off with a LaCie DJI Boss drive with SD slot for what they call "image ingesting." I have configured the DJI to sync with Adobe Cloud for stored images.

How do you do that?

This would have to be through your cellphone - how many photos are you thinking about - and what is your data limit? It could be expensive if you overshoot that. Also, it will drain your cellphone battery more quickly than you are used to.

Sorry, but that won't help a bit. You'll need much more

All the pictures I take with my phone go directly to Google Photos, which always surprises me.

I have a Pixel. Even the shots I download from my camera are saved to Photos with no limit.

Dinosaur here, I would not rely on the cloud only if they are good/important photos.

...I can't imagine not being able to download data from card to *device* while in the field. Last time I was in DC I was 10K+ shots in 3 days...that's alot of uploading, and cameras just ain't fast enough. Phone cam is different, but, then, Google burns 'em down and they're jpegs (actually, I have those going to Amazon, too, and I think they're full size.). But, really, why not take the laptop?

Charlie,

How in the world do you review 10,000 shots? I can't imagine doing that!

That's not just a lot of uploading, that's a lot of spray and pray. Slow down and think more, download less.

If your main problem is safe storage of your images, you could take extra SSD cards along. Most smartphone companies sell a SSD card to phone cable to which you could store your images, but this eats up phone memory storage.
