In the process of installing my new iMac, PS works just fine, until after I get into the print menu, select my profile. But when I click ok-to print, PS shuts down. Every time. Anyone have this problem with the new OS 10.13.6?

Do you have more than one printer listed in software to chose from?

I have three. Two are b/w laser, and the one Canon Pro 9500 Mark II printer. It has always been that way, before the new computer. Never a problem then.

I would look at both Apple High Sierra (which works smoothly for many, but is problematic for others) and Canon (drivers in particular). It is possible that a driver became corrupt during this latest round of installs. Talk or e-chat with both until a solution is found. Good luck to you.

Sometimes unplugging the printer for a few minutes and then restarting solves printer problems. If that doesn’t help, try deleting the printer from System Preferences—>Printers & Scanners and then adding it back as a new printer.

Dumb question, but have you re-selected theprinter you wish to use or is the one you want to use on the list twice?

If those check I’d look for a printer driver update.

Yes, yes, and yes. Thanks guys, I've done all of those. And relative to the driver, when I fired up the new computer, I had all printer cables disconnected. Then I connected each printer, one at a time. The screen told me of the new printer, and that it would get the driver. I have to think it would have been the latest driver.

Have you contacted an exorcist?

Hey, I think the exorcist might be a good idea.

And I could take this "challenge" on, to solve the ""problem"", but I am not wanting this to become a future "hobby". If I cannot make this work, this will give me an excellent reason to enjoy a new frontier as I learn Affinity. Learning something new, no matter our age, is healthy.

Reset the printer system and reinstall drivers, using the latest ones that Mac OS finds. (It should find them automatically when you go to reinstall a printer.) Be sure NOT to use the CUPS generic drivers. Find the printers by name.

Elliott937, can you print from other programs? If you can then try rebuilding PS preferences, this usually corrects these kinds of problems.
