I actually take these in low light or dark room. I have two flashes that provide the light. The shutter is on bulb mode. I open the shutter, fire the drops which cause the flashes to fire after a delay from when the drops pass an IR sensor. Once the flashes fire I close the shutter. I have tried this as well using wireless control of the flashes and setting the shutter speed to 1/200 but I feel this method is less reliable as far as timing is concerned. Nice photos! I was trying to figure out how to replicate on my own. Then I read your technique, and re-read, and.... Uhhh, I am just going to enjoy your photos. They are phenomenal!
