I want to buy a Fuji Macro lens, one actually MADE IN JAPAN, by FUJI. 60mm or 80mm. P.m. me if you have one you would part with. THANKS RJM

Hi!

I am sorry, I don't have a Fuji but have you thought of adapting a legacy lens? There are some outstanding ones available for next to nothing in price and being a macro, manual focus is the way to go anyway. Let me know what you think.

Thanks for that suggestion. I am not comfortable with "REAR CONVERTERS" but I do have one for "pentax to fuji" I've just viewed a review of the Fuji 80mm MACRO, and would love to-go-there. In the mean-time, I will try my 100mm Pentax Macro on my Fuji X=T20. You're right about macro being ideally MANUAL, so maybe that will get it. There's nothing shabby about my pentax 35mm macro, nor is my 100mm macro, So I will give them a try, while I save-up for the Japanese-made Fuji 80mm Macro, prime lens.RJM

RJM - KEH currently has several used Fuji X-mount 60mm lenses in a minimum of EX condition for around $449. The retail list at B&H is $649.

I have a Viltrox Nikon to Fuji X that I use for my Tokina 100mm (a lens I couldn't bear to give up when I changed ;) with aperture controls - manual of course. It works beautifully! The Fuji 60 is a 1:2 macro where the 80mm is a true 1:1 - I think you would be happier with your Pentax until you save up for the 80mm in my opinion.

I know what you mean about the converters, I felt the same way but they are actually very well made. Perfect for macro, I think anyway

I have both the 60 and 80 mm Fuji macro lenses. There is a considerable difference between them, far more than you might realize at only a 20 mm difference. The 60 will close focus to about 6in. and the 80 to only about 10 or 11 in. The difference in size and weight is huge- the 80 being much heavier and bulky. I suggest that before you decide rent both and compare to see which best fits your needs.

I have the Fuji 80mm macro and it is awesome! It resolves more detail than my Nikon 60 and 105. It’s currently $300 off at all Fuji authorized dealers.

Thanks for posting this. I have a Fuji X-T2 and am considering a Fuji macro of some sort. Will consider the Fuji 80mm macro. I have a Nikon D750 and was also thinking about the Nikkor 105 but I am leaning more toward the X-T2 with a macro because of size and weight - the Fuji being much lighter and smaller.

Well, in a couple of days, I will be able to comment, from experience, on the 80mm Macro. My friends at B&H came through for me, once again. RJM

The Fuji 80mm is actually larger than the AF Micro Nikkor 105mm f2.8 D (non vr) and slightly heavier too.

Best macro I have used was a 90mm Tokina manual focus. It was owned by a dentist who used it on a Lester Dine Olympus ring light. The ring light fit the 72mm front filter ring. The lens is very good.

Tokina has a variety of 90mm Macros in legacy and AF that fit many cameras.

Wow Dennis, I did not know this. I should take a short trip (35 miles) to Hunt's Photo & Video just outside of Boston and check this out. They will have macro lenses for both Nikon and Fuji. I think I would still lean in the direction the Fuji 80. However, the Tamron SP 90mm f/2.8 for Nikon seems to be a very impressive lens. And this lens has vibration reduction as well. Too many options !!
