Tilt Shift Effect Applied

So apparently I was on a tilt shift effect kick as I applied it to several picks from this vacation. I still like the vibe it gives to some photos and perhaps need to revisit the effect. I actually have this one printed and on my desk, I love it but that's my entire world in that picture!

Really curious what you all think though....

I think that's a perfect use of the effect.

I don't know what your understanding of the "Tilt/shift" effect is, as I don't see it in this picture. I would have preferred a sharp shot throughout!

It doesnt show up real well in this post, though it does in the photo itself. I know tilt shift has a specific purpose but I used it creatively here to focus attention on the people and fade out the background and foreground. You can see their feet and the trees behind are blurred by the tilt shift effect. It is similar to macro in throwing a larger portion out of focus in this case.

The photo obviously speaks to you and has deep meaning for you, so for that reason alone, it is a good photograph. I have used the tilt shift effect humorously when I've taken photos where buildings or people happen to be tiny and by fading out the background and foreground make them look like they belong on a miniature train set.

yes! I have a pretty healthy sense of humor and am a curious person by nature. I also love kids, their world is full of miniatures and colorful. I think this effect sparks that a little for me.
