I mentored a couple on this issue, they weren’t manual readers. After about three sessions they agreed that they better read the manual. I downloaded their manual and studied it a bit. When I pressed the button to pop the LCD screen out, they were amazed and embarrassed. Start simple, move to more complex. Maybe find yourself a mentor.

Hi! My name is Jim. I recently received a Canon 80D camera and have no idea how to use it. I do have a little background in art. I draw photo-realistic portraits so I thought it would be nice to learn how to shoot really detailed portraits. I get a lot of crappy reference photos to draw from and would like to be able to shoot my own reference photos. Hope this place can help me out with it. Here's a pic one of my drawings.
Welcome and love your drawing
Cheer!

Welcome, this forum is a great way to learn. I got an 80D a couple of years ago and got the book "Canon EOS 80D for Dummies." The book is well written and it will teach you how to get the most out of your 80D; I highly recommend it.
