you couple a 1970's 50mm f1.4 Super Takumar lens with a 1970's Kenko 2X Teleconverter? This shot was taken at f8, ISO 100 and at a distance of 24 inches. Not much difference from today's best optics.

Looks pretty good to me, if somewhat soft around the edges.

I enjoy trying out older equipment too, just to see.

The first shot was an oblique. This shot was taken with a flat subject parallel to the focal plane. The edge softness will be better to assess with this alignment. I would not avoid using this setup for any setting where a 100 mm prime is called for.
