Cs6 was heavily pirated. Turn off auto updates if so. I use cs6 and like owning the software. Cloud based is good until it's not.
Worth the risk. I like getting stuff used you save so much money. Just be prepared as about 10% of the time things don't work out.

I have CS 5 extended (and its on a disk) but I also run PS CC and actually that's were I save a lot of money, with the prescription program, vs the disk one!

ahhh the cloud...the product that you never finish paying for....no thank you. just want to buy something once!
On the other hand, those of us who are "still paying" don't have to worry about whether to "update" to software that is already seven years old.

tnx .. This one is a Read Only CD .. so no updates can be installed ..
It's not installed on PC .. Just activate programme from CD .

It runs from the CD and is not installed on your computer? You should probably run from this CD as well.

I had an Extended PS a few years ago, and at upgrade time, I was able to upgrade it for a reasonable price. The next upgrade carried a very high price for the Extended version, so I went with the regular. I didn't appreciate that.

Hi,

Excellent programme but now that I have a Lumix , it does not recognise the Raw files .

Try LightZone. It's free and very good post-processing software which recognizes RW2 and other RAW format files.

Jerry, I looked at those offers on eBay using your link. Don't you think nearly all of them are illegal copies?

If Adobe were to get involved with those sales, I bet they would find illegalities. In many cases, when you buy a software, the company says you don't own it. They are selling you a license to use it. I think that's ridiculous, but that's the way it is. Selling something you don't own is probably not legal, so I would expect problems down the road with those products on eBay. I think it's deceptive showing the Adobe packaging because that's not what they are selling.

I know that eBay does not allow bootlegged software to be sold on its site. A few years ago, they pulled all the Rosetta Stone software from eBay.

I doubt it. This is probably a CD with some version of PS on it - whether legitimate or a copy someone made. It would have to be installed.

Remember years ago when all software was run from the disk? Even after hard drives became popular, many programs ran right from the disk.

I agree, but the OP was very specific and said, "It's not installed on PC .. Just activate programme from CD ."

You would do better just doing a search for CS6 cracks on the net, i guarante that is what is being sold. You will be buying pirated software , so just pirate it yourself and do not enrich the leech. In fact there is a crack on line for 2018 version out there.

I can not afford the Photoshop Cloud monthly fee as I only do photography as hobby and do not make money from it ..

On Ebay I see that there is a Read Only CD of CS6 .. Full version and Licence free .
It's £50 ( not that cheap ) ... I contacted the seller and he says its an official Adobe CD .

I've done some google search and can not find any info on such a product ..

Anyone know anything about it ?

Cheers

Unfortunately, in my experience lots of people don't seem to have a problem buying pirated software, or other products at rock bottom prices that have "fallen off the truck". If they benefit by saving a significant amount of money they tend to overlook the moral or legal implications. However, I'm not suggesting the OP is doing that.

Photoshop CS6 is a bona-fide software. But be aware of one important point, if the product has been pre-owned and used. Adobe has a registration and authorization policy. Most PS products can be authorized on only two platforms, beyond that the PS product runs only in the 'demo' mode - limited tool usability and no 'save' or 'print' options. A platform can be deauthorized, so make sure the seller has deauthorized all platforms. How this can be proven and what recourse buyer has are very dicey. Based on my prior experiences, do not count on eBay or PayPal or Amazon to actually rectify seller abuses.

First things first - go here to find what version of ACR you need to read Lumix files: https://helpx.adobe.com/camera-raw/kb/camera-raw-plug-supported-cameras.html. Then go here to find what the highest version of ACR is supported by PS CS6: https://helpx.adobe.com/camera-raw/kb/camera-raw-compatible-applications.html#main_Note_5. Also note that if CS6 can read your files with the right version of ACR, if the software you buy isn't legit, you may not be able to install the ACR upgrade.

Keep using CS5 and convert your raw files to DNG is the way to go.

What you are going to find it is a pirated copy, it will function, but has limitation.

They will probably tell you the bridge function is turned off. This means whatever you receive is what you will have.

No updates for things like RAW drivers for newer camera, or any other Addins.

If all you want is basic function, you can find copies as you are describing more in the $10 range on eBay.
