I found a used 7D Mark II -- thank you for your comments! Looking for a lightly used Canon 80D or 7D Mark II body. Please provide shutter count. Batteries and charger would be nice.

I have an 80D that I am thinking about selling. The only reason is because I bought a 6D mark 2 and really don't need both. It is about a year old, I bought it brand new, not an import and came from Cannon or B&H, I will have to look it up. I have used it several times but I can't tell you what the shutter count is (don't know how). It is in like new condition. If you are looking for body only, I will take $850.00 + shipping. If you want it with EFS 18-135 STM I will sell for $1050.00. It is in perfect condition and comes with everything it came with new. Just let me know. docmcwane@aol.com, 540-382-5673 at my store. Thanks

You can get the shutter count at https://www.camerashuttercount.com/
You just have to upload an unedited jpeg.
Worked for me.

I haven't used them yet, but I've seen many UHH users recommend them. I'm also considering a new camera and won't hesitate to buy from MPB if they have what I'm looking for. One thing to consider: they don't always include many of the smaller accessories that a private party includes. Be sure to clarify with them exactly what you're getting (battery, charger, software, caps, manual, etc.)

According to the program, an 80D doesn't record the data. I tried it with several raw and unedited jpgs. It wont work in my 6D mark 2 either. If it helps, I set it for a continuous count file when I first got it and the pics are on IMG-3483. It does not reset when I format the card. I tried several other shutter count programs that I found on UHH and they all say that this Canon does not record the shutter count. sorry.

I’m sorry, I just investigated further after reading your post and found this:
The EOS-1D X Mark II, EOS 5DS, 5DS R, 80D, 750D / Rebel T6i / Kiss X8i and 760D / Rebel T6s / 8000D cameras do not provide shutter count information. It seems that Canon has removed the shutter count functionality from the remote control interface so these programs will not work. The only way to get shutter count numbers is to send to an authorized Canon repair location.

Yes, that is what I read too. For me, I know it is low and they say if you set your files to continuous the IMG number would be very close to the shutter count. But I hate not to be able to give somebody an exact count if they ask. Thanks you.

I just checked the shutter count on my new Canon 6D mark 2 and it reads the IMG count in 3600's too and I have only taken a few pics with it. I am pretty confused now. Oh well I will figure it out sooner or later.

They use 4 digit ID numbers for the IMG so what it says now is dependent on what it started with.

There are eoscount programs that will read the number! That data is not included in exif info!
