What is a good place to photograph wildlife around Delray Beach?

I’d head for the Everglades.

Wakodahatchee Wetlands. Flooded couple of city blocks with boardwalks. Haven't been there for several years, but used to be a great spot.

Wakodathatchee is a great place but this time of year it is very crowded with tourists. Go early the parking is hard to get.

Also, Green Cay. Better parking but also crowded this time of year. The GBH's are nesting and I got a good series last week at Wakodahatchee. Painted buntings at Green Cay.

I live in Delray so I don't go out to those places much this time of year. I don't like the crowds. But by April, the snowbirds are gone and the birding is great.

Green Cay- busy time of year-come early- great nature walk and photo op. Lots of photographers with monster 600 mm lenses. Got a shot of a gator just a couple weeks ago.

You'll have to go inland just a bit. Green Cay, Wakodahatchee, and Laxahatchee National Refuge are all a short drive. I would be happy to be your guide, private message me if your interested and I'll take you to the prime locations at Laxahatchee to find the allusive Snail Kite.

Wakodahatchee Wetlands: It is on Jog Road nestled between Boca and Palm Beach. I was there in late December. Was shooting with only a 70-300 and was able to get great images. Lots of variety, and easy to practice your BIF techniques. I went to the back entrance to Nakodahatchee National... you could walk in there, but the main entrance was closed due to Govt. Shutdown.

Best of luck

We also drove up to Safari Park- not too far away. Great pics of wildlife without fences, except for the lions...
