These key aspects of our society are broken and judging by the the antipathies expressed here in the Attic, I think they will not heal in our lifetimes. And, it has become far more polarized by trump’s lack of leadership and lack of integrity.

I don’t think punt captains can understand the President of the United States of America is working, and
democrat leaders are not.

Trump, for all his faults, is the first R since Reagan who had the backbone to stand up to the party of sedition.

Exactly!

Dems have tried impeaching every Republican president since Eisenhower. They keep trotting out Lazaras's line of "yearning to be free" when they really mean "yearning to be in control". It's as if they are still pissed that Lincoln ended slavery.

Bottom line...

1- Texas Rep. Henry Gonzalez and six other Democrats introduced a resolution to impeach Reagan in 1987
2- Gonzalez pushed to have President George H.W. Bush impeached in 1991 because of the Gulf War.
3- Reps. Dennis Kucinich and Robert Wexler introduced 35 articles of impeachment against President George W. Bush in 2004 that centered on the Iraq War, Hurricane Katrina, global warming and the 2004 elections.
4- Heck, Rep. Maxine Waters — who is currently making a big stink about impeaching Trump — first called for his impeachment before Trump was inaugurated. They keep yammering on about it too....

This evidently is the go to strategy any time a republican is elected President.

The first time I heard "You Liberals" and "I want my country back" was one year into Obama's time. That was an unpleasant relative and well before Trump landed. I haven't spoken with him since. I'm guessing he got job at a Russian troll farm.
