If I’m selling a camera and some lens for that camera to a camera store through the mail which will give me the most profit? Sell them by the piece or all together?

I think you will get an itemized offer (by the piece) even if you submit them all together.

I do not think that matters. A camera store is going to sell it on a per each basis. Why don’t you offer it for sale on this site? You will probably net 25 to 30 percent more than a sticks & bricks. If you are on Facebook, check out their Marketplace. I have seen all kinds of camera equipment for sale there. Graigs List or EBay (fees) are other choices.

Sell the larger items by the piece especially when selling to KEH or a camera store, but small accessories might be offered at a bigger discount as extra enticement to an individual buyer.

Kenn, You can get a quote for your equipment on line from B&H. I like to sell items separately.I sell most of my equipment on Ebay. Good images and write up sell the item.

Mpb.com seems to offer the best prices for buying your equipment. I have bought and sold with them several times. They are a good outfit to deal with.

You always get more selling pieces than the whole. Ask any junk yard owner.
I sell my items on Ebay and get anywhere from 50-80% more than selling it to a camera store. I have a rating over 800 and have a 100% rating. Folks love to buy from me because I sell MINT in the box.

About a month ago I sold 2 nikon consumer FF lens and one of my D80's with a kit lens. I got a price from B&H and Adorama. They gave prices by the piece. Both these Brick and morters were about 50% of there retail value. MPB gave me a price of about 65% of value and sent me a prepaid Fedex label. After they received the equipment they agreeded with the online quote (sight on seen) and deposited the amount into my acount. I did try selling some of the equipment on eBay but aftr a couple of weeks with no bites just sold them to Mpb to get them off my shelf. All is good. John

Look on eBay for your items and click on "Sold items" down the left column.

Ken, I have purchased a flash unit, and most recently an iPad Mini from fellow UHH members, and the outcome has been very satisfying. I agree with Dave, why not off your equipment for sale here on this site?

If you sell them the "lot" they will want a discount...probably best to itemize individually... generally speaking you will get much less selling to a camera store vs. selling individually on ebay for example. But it is convenient to sell to the store especially if you plan to buy equipment from them - boils down to convenience/expediency vs. profit. One plus with selling to a store is you don't have to deal with any complaints from buyers and/or returns.

Ive sold items advertised on this web site. I posted the items, had replies within hours, and settled on a price quickly. Turns out the person lived only 20 miles away, i also sold two lenses on amazon, you list your item with a prico you want. Other people have the same item and their prices are posted, so if you want a quick sale make you item cost the lowest on the list, I sold both lenses within a few hours.
