I shoot raw mainly as it gives so much more leadway in post processing, often allowing correction of mistakes when the photo was taken. I have taken photos way way way over exposed but in post processing have been able to get a reasonable image from the raw file. The only time I use jpg is if I need to transfer the files quickly such as posting to social media, etc.
I think most of us here shoot raw because we post-process just about everything. For the everyday shooter who is interested only in nice sooc photos, raw is a detriment.
