There is the continued debate over RAW vs. JPEG. Up front, I shoot RAW. But if you don't, this article will be of value to you.

Do you not just hate sites that proclaim to know secrets.....there are no secret camera settings no matter what button you press.

Next they will suggest all great images were helped by being a Freemason...

I shoot raw mainly as it gives so much more leadway in post processing, often allowing correction of mistakes when the photo was taken. I have taken photos way way way over exposed but in post processing have been able to get a reasonable image from the raw file. The only time I use jpg is if I need to transfer the files quickly such as posting to social media, etc.

I think most of us here shoot raw because we post-process just about everything. For the everyday shooter who is interested only in nice sooc photos, raw is a detriment.
