Nice image. Thanks for sharing. Just a thought...I assume the owl was not moving much. With ISO 1600 and so much shadow, noise could be significant. But you could have lowered shutter speed to 1/500, ISO 400-500, and probably have needed no compensation. I take many bird pictures and have found I too often use high shutter speed and high ISO because I set my defaults high for quickly moving subjects and don't adjust them for still subjects, but I'm trying to remember to drop the shutter speed and ISO when my subjects aren't moving much. Not a criticism of this photo, just a suggestion for future efforts...for what it's worth. Keep shooting and sharing.
