Wrap your own canvas workshop - interest?

I am wondering if there might be an interest in a workshop where the participant wraps their own pre-printed giclee archival canvas for their own use. I am not advertising said workshop, just interested in how many would participate if one was in your area?

Assuming $35 workshop fee plus canvas (all items required included) cost for 1 of 3 sizes,
12x18 $45, total $80
16x24 $75, total $110
20x30 $120, total $155

Would you;
-be interested?
-consider these prices low, right on, or high?

Also, would there be any interst in a workshop on archival resin containers?

How many would attend in your area? How much would you be willing
to pay to go to a Tupperware party?

I am not advertising anything, just making people aware of this opportunity
and how the powerful force of MLM can change their lives.

Glossary:
"glicee" = inkjet print
"resin" = plastic
"archival" = nothing, unless it's independently certified to meet the
Library of Congress Standards for Archival Properties.

Thank you for that. Curious as to where? wrapped? or just the canvas?

Just checked Costco US and the price is $59.99 for a 16x20 wrapped.
MPIX is listed at $94.50.

Having scoped out the Canadian market, my pricing is about 10% less than the market here in Canada. The US market should be less than CAD.

Just spent about $85 at Costco for a 20x30 wrapped canvas FRAMED!! So my response would be a resounding NO!
BTW, it was delivered yesterday and exceded my expectations.

I would be very interested as I not only wrap canvas all the time, I also print it on my printer.

I'd be interested, but unfortunately I cannot afford the prices quoted. I'd like to print my own canvases, but I find the coated canvas very stiff and hard to get the corners done nicely. I can do painters' canvas, as it is a lot softer and more easily foldable and stretchable. One of the places where I have printing done, will print on flat canvas. Shipping is MUCH cheaper than for a mounted canvas.

I have a 54" printer and buy the canvas in 54" rolls so I can print my own

I would be interested, but I see 2 problems - most of us can't print larger than 16" wide, and that is even high end. My Pro-100 will only go to 13".
Second, I am not sure a home printer can print on canvas, so you might only get the print at the workshop, in which case the prices would be a little high (but worth learning how to do it).
If I could print on canvas and get a reasonably priced supply of canvas, it would be worth it. For now, I will just order out.

I personally don’t care for the look of photographs on canvas. Looks like something trying to be what it’s not. When I lived in Texas, I did find a printer in McKinney who would print on watercolor paper for the same cost (they’ve since ceased printing services). Had a couple of images printed that way and I liked the result much better. The paper had less texture (think canvas weave) and a flatter surface (less glossy) and looked very nice matted and framed. It was different from a conventional photo print but not fakey like a photo on canvas. I haven’t had any large prints done in a while, but I’m hoping I can find a printer who will print on water color paper when I want some larger prints.

I've just ordered a 16x20 canvas print from Costco (San Diego) yesterday for a total of $40+ tax included. Your prices are too high.

Thank you all for your responses. For those of you that ran across a sale price, more power to you. Costco web site lists the 16x20 at 59.99 USD so that $40 seems like an incentive sale for the dead months of Jan. and Feb. For those that print their own, that is great unless you can't print a larger size or print photographic canvas. If nothing else one can learn what is involved in the process which may or may not help in the future. I have seen cheap canvas wraps that are so thin that after just a few months have stretched and warped and others with gawd awful over-lapped corners. My photos deserve better.

The deal I am considering is that one would receive a custom giclee printed, mirrored edge on high quality archival canvas and would be provided all the necessary equipment including hands on instruction to wrap and be ready to hang their masterpiece.

Corrected Glossary:
"glicee" = inkjet print using pigment based ink
"resin" = plastic (what does this have to do with the price of rice in China)
"archival" = nothing, unless it's independently certified to meet the
Library of Congress Standards for Archival Properties. and it does including certificate from the company

Sounds like too much trouble. Do I have to go somewhere and get canvas from you, take home and print and return to someplace with print and a staple gun and you provide stretcher frame? I was once taught how to wrap by the owner of a local art supply store. Took all of 10 minutes. Been so long since I did it I've forgotten how.

What exactly is an Archival resin container? Tupperware that is made of a plastic that doesn't off gas? Sounds to me like a solution in search of a problem.
