Thanks, Bill!! The wired remote I ordered arrived yesterday. I'm hoping the IQ and sharpness improves by eliminating my shaky right hand.
I just discovered this AM, that the feeder cage has disappeared. It may be on the ground, but without going outside and investigating, I suspect a squirrel is the culprit. I'll check out the area later.

Can't have that style feeder here. I make my own PREMIUM suet here in Greensboro, NC. The starlings and grackles would clean one brick of suet out in 2 or 3days and keep a lot of the smaller feeding birds at bay. I buy one of those caged suet feeders to keep the louts out

My wife hung a bird feeder from a hook at the edge of the small woods behind our condo complex. Within a day, birds began feeding - Downy Woodpecker, Cardinals, Sparrows and others not yet determined. I finally (I'm lazy) set up my tripod and Sony - aperture priority f/4, ISO 200. I'm shooting through a window. I ordered a wired remote to be delivered today, so I may be able to set the tripod outside. That may help with IQ & sharpness. Here are a couple of photos from yesterday and today. Not as sharp as I'd like, but it's a start. My wife's feeder is a fantastic addition. If identification is incorrect, it's her fault. I'll give you her phone number.
Not happy with the Cardinal, but I'll have many more opportunities.

Thanks for viewing - please use download

Thanks. Our newest one is gone!! Off to Squirrel MacDonald's. The one before that was plastic and iron. They ate and chewed all the plastic.

Quite nice shots taken thru window glass, especially the Junco, which I like best. Dark-headed Juncos are exceptionally challenging little guys to shoot as they are continually moving and darting around at the speed of light. I figure that once I can master photographing these birds the rest of the bird-shooting game will be easy ... ha, oh yeah, right! Dream on. Thanks for sharing.
