Which of those two lenses do you like better?
I prefer the 18-135 because it is a bit smaller, lighter, and more compact than the 18-105. Both produce excellent photos. I don't do many videos but most reviewers say the 18-105 is the better choice for video. I was looking for the most compact combination with the focal lengths I prefer. If I could only own one it would be the 18-135.
Since "MOST" of my photos are of nature, and wildlife, I have Tamron 150-600mm G2 Mounted on a Nkon D500 set in manual mode, but with Auto ISO activated... All ready for "out the door" with extra batteries and fast memory cards.

I keep at least one camera (preset for most parameters) on a nearby shelf set to allow me to grab it and go quickly in case of an unexpected photo opportunity. Have mixed feelings about a zoom vs. just a 50mm (FF) or 35mm (Crop). What do you favor?
On one of my crop cameras, just a standard 18-50 kit lens.
Although it changes throughout the year, on my full frame, I like the Irix 15mm and sometimes a 70-200 f: 2.8. It really depends on the reason of the season you might say.

18-135 on 7d2
24-105 on 6d
18-105 on a6000
However, the normal grab and go is either a Canon SX60 or G16
18-140mm on my newly acquired Nikon D7200 is now my grab and go, second is Nikon D3300 with 35mm 1.8.
I use the Sony a6300 with the Zeiss 16 to 70 f4. I mostly shoot FF a7s II etc.
But this rig is so versatile. Chamber Commerce event celebrating great students in FL.
I was a guest and the lady who is in charge needed photos in pinch.
The 16mm is us useful in group shots. The shot most without flash.
But in some groups used the camera flash which was adequate.
I don't like strong flash so this fill worked for me. At the end their was am important
award and the a6300 16-70 is a great video camera.
Canon 70-200 F2.8 IS on a Rebel 4Ti. I keep it in a grocery bag too. When I go for a long drive I keep a Tamron 15-30 on a 6D

I don't need to have my camera preset since I shoot in manual mode and on my Canon 7D Mark II, with its intelligent viewfinder, I can reset virtually any important parameter quickly without removing my eye from the cup. I usually keep a fast 35mm prime lens on it for grab and go.

A Tampon on a 6D? That must be visually interesting.
Not sure you understood my comment. Look at your spelling of Tamron.
