A Savior who is Christ the Lord.
Remember without Christmas there is no Easter.

Actually, I think "Easter" is based on the old pronunciation of "Ishtar". (It is a fertility celebration with rabbits and eggs and that sort of thing.)

Christmas is the same way. The eight-legged flying horse is based on Odin. Cutting down a tree and decorating it with gold is based on a druid rite, and December 25 is based on Saturnalia. (If shepherds were watching their flocks at night in the fields, then Jesus was born in the Summer.)

I am happy that people celebrate the birth of Jesus, but it is not something that he ever requested. His actual requests were more along the lines of loving each other....

I got 5 hours in the ER and a gall bladder removal 3 days before Christmas! Upside is that the family did all the stuff I was supposed to do but couldn’t. Missed some Christmas Eve festivities but everyone is happy and healthy so all is well. Hope everyone had a great Christmas!

Oh wow that can be painful. Glad okay now. Happy Holidays to you and your house.

Got a really great photographic gift from our daughter. She had a photo book made with pictures of the grand kids with herself and husband included as well. Some shots were a little over or under exposed. Some were not all that sharp but all were beautiful in my and my wife's estimation. A Merry Christmas was had by all at our home and I hope all on the UHH can say theirs was just a merry as ours.

I love your positive outlook that "your photos are still crappy, bit you look like a pro." Enjoy your hobby and with some luck education, lots of practice and patience, you may well catch up to the capabilities of your camera and lens.

Happy holidays.

All I got for Christmas is a Fitbit Versa smart watch. And a happy family.

A day late, but I got a mint condition Nikkor 105mm f/2.5 AIs lens from a dealer located in Japan. Lens is spotless, not even minor dust. Focus ring is tight, as new. Can't wait to use this one with my "new" F3HP and FM2n.

Something I've wanted, and needed, for years: a new right hip! Yes, it was an early present by a week, but still counts, doesn't it?👍🤓👍

Me too! Except mine was a new right knee. Looking forward to being able to venture out to take photos other than from my back yard.

My darling Santa bought me a Nikon d810 to go along with my d750 for Hanukkah this year. Last year it was my d750. I'm starting to have a lot of equipment on hand. But I just flat out beat my 810 into oblivion.

Got to bring our oldest grandson up here from Texas to spend Christmas, so we had the whole family minus one. Second grandson sent us a great framed picture of him and his girlfriend. Great family time. I'm still working on the Sony 18-135 lens thing, though. Perhaps after we recover from Christmas I'll wave the credit card in that direction.

Good luck with the knee, Tom.

I, too, am looking forward to being able to "zoom with my feet" once again!
