I really like Sun Surveyor. There's a number of tutorials for it on You Tube. It gives info for sunrise and sunset, moon rise and moon set as well as info about seeing the Milky Way.

Check out an Android/IOS app called PhotoPills. It is an excellent photoshop shot planning tool that will allow you to plan and exact location of where the Sun is rising or setting as well as when the moon is rising or setting over a an object. It also have a lot of other features like moon phases etc. The app cost 9.99 and worth every penny if you want to plan your shots.

Not an app, but a website, check out the Naval Observatory at the following URL for Rise/Set/Transit Times for Major Solar System Bodies and Bright Stars: https://aa.usno.navy.mil/data/docs/mrst.php.

Of course, the moon is among the bodies you can get data for, as well as the sun, all the planets, and about 2 dozen bright stars. Gives the azimuth (with 0 being north, 90 east, 180 south and 270 west) for the rise, transit (highest point in the sky) and set.

It allows for setting your location and elevation. Use Form A for US locations, Form B for non-US locations. You can specify for how many days you want the data. I usually print up a month at a time and have the printout near my observation equipment.

This is an invaluable tool for sky observers/photogs.

I just wanted something simple to figure the best times to set up for Astrophotography, or when Moonrise or Moonset will be.
I liked it so much I got the Pro Version for $1.99.
But the free version is fine, too.
